Google Fixing the Search Console Coverage Issue Redirect Errors

A few days back, an internal issue caused an increase in redirect errors during indexing and associated email notification. Google confirmed that these emails were sent due to an internal issue and also asserted that the notifications were not sent because of any website issue. Many people share about receiving many emails from the search console about redirect errors.

The email read, “Coverage issues detected on a domain. Search Console has identified that your site is affected by 1 Coverage issue: Top Errors. Errors can prevent your page or feature from appearing in search results. The following errors were found on your site: Redirect error. We recommend that you fix these issues, when possible, to enable the best experience and coverage in Google Search.”

Seeing this, Google Search Center tweeted that it was not due to any website issues but due to an internal Google issue. Many people shared the screenshots on their Twitter account complaining about receiving endless numbers of emails about the redirect errors. Afterward, Google confirmed that it was a bug on their search console Twitter account.

On 9th December, Google also posted about the data anomalies in the search console. Also, know that you need not take any action if you receive this notification. Google will resolve the issue, and the redirect errors will go away. Google will keep you informed whenever the report gets fixed. Also, in case you face any similar issue in the future, just ignore it and wait for Google to fix the error.
